Prosecutions for January
Sunbeam Woodworks, London – fined £24,000 and the owner personally fined £8,000 for several breaches of H&S Law. The breaches included:
- Failure to test extraction systems
- Failure to provide Respiratory Protective Equipment or any health surveillance
- Failure to control Noise
- Failure to provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision.
Sewstern Timber Company Lincolnshire – fined £18,000 plus £10,000 costs following injury to a worker who was using an unguarded roller conveyor
